After the terrantial rain today i noticed...

    Hey guys,
After the rain we got stopped i wanted to perform some check under the bonnet of my saxo, i noticed quite a bit of water has managed to get under the bonnet and has gathered around the sounds of the engine bay for instance one small puddle was found around where the ecu sits, not only do i deem this to be pretty dangerous (water near electrics an all) but no wonder the saxo's struggle with rust in these area's.
Does anyone have any idea's as to how i could eliminate this problem in future? some how sealing the bonnet off so that water can't get it in?
I also noticed the carpet thing (sorry i dunno what its called) under the bonnet on the top was soaked too

Either avoid it or re-route. You cant really seal anything up

And the rust problem is down to mucky arches that never get cleaned.

i was thinking of maybe adding some of those seal strips down the side and front of the bonnet?
Im probably just worrying to much but i know all too what happen when water hits something electrical when it shouldn't lol

All cars get wet under the bonnet a certain amount, it's unavoidable.

Underseal and hammerite if you feel like preventing rust. Otherwise water gets under sometimes. Not sure how you would be able to open the bonnet after sealing it off.

Plus you have spray coming in from the arches and under the car...

Don't worry about it I thought I was bad for stressing about cars lol

Open the bonnet & check the 2 drain holes each end of the scuttle as they get blocked by leaves.
