Door opening problem

   My passenger door doesn't open from the outside and I can see its a little metal clip that has snapped so when you pull the handle from the outside, it pulls a metal bar which is connected to the mechanism but the connecting clip has broken. I have searched this problem and seen its not a rare problem but no one seemed to come up with a solution for it!
   Any help or ideas!

   Just replace it with a part from the scrappy.

   As above, best bet would be to go to a local scrapyard for the part.
   
   I've not seen this problem before.

   I cant get the metal clip out that I need from the cars in the scrappy! Unless I replace the whole lock or door, which will then mean I cant unlock the car from that side and it would cost quite a bit too!

   You can use the lock barrel from your motor, just got to do the old switcheroo.
   
   Pop this little rubber gromit off and you can get a thin driver in to press a clip in and pop the barrel out.

   So I take the handle mechanism out but leave the actual lock mechanism in?

   You can remove the lock barrel from the locking mechanism then remove the lock mech, replace it with a bit from the scrappy then put your barrel back in so your key will still lock the door.

   Ok cheers! The mechanism is riveted in isnt it so will need drilling out??

   Some are some aren't. Citroen trying to save money by using rivits.
