Fuse 7 blowing when brake pedal pressed

I've had to fully strip the front end of my lasses saxo to have the inner arches welded due to rust.
It's all back together now and looking great fully undersealed and painted.
Problem is since rebuild I have got no brake lights and car is ready for MOT apart from brake lights issue.
I've checked loom and no breaks in wires.
Fitted new brake switch cleaned all engine bay earths up but as soon as pedal pressed fuse 7 pops. Used over 15 fuses. What could it be?
It's a problem since car was stripped and rebuiit so must be engine bay related. All other lights are perfectly fine.
Could It be light clusters or reverse switch (but reverse lights work with brake switch disconnected)
    Thanks

    Andy

Had interior fully removed too so I could have a seat mount welded but looking over interior loom all seems fine no wires broken or trapped when refitting interior.

Check your rear lights,ie the bulbs & circuit boards.

Borrowing a mates lenses tomorrow. Will swap them over and if it's still blowing the fuse I can rule them out.
Had some water get into them and they aren't the best condition so we'll see.
    Thanks

Check to see if you've put a arch liner screw through a wire or something.
We had a motor come into work with the interior light fuse kept blowing, turns out they had had the roof liner down and put one of the sun visor screws through the loom

Have you changed your bulbs by any chance??

Had arch liners back off and no screws through wires. Everything as it should be

Yeah replaced both bulbs as one had blown and was black.

Its not the light clusters as they work on my mates car.
Could I be reverse switch shorting even though that works with brake switch disconnected.

Just found that earth wire for cig lighter was shorting to stereo cage. Brake lights fixed!

    Spoke too soon!
Its back to blowing fuses today!
Can a reverse switch be causing a short even though with brake light switch disconnected reverse lights work. Could it still be faulty?

Ano it sounds daft mate but have you got the correct bulbs in? I done exactly the same and it was blowing the fuse constantly
