    Hi everyone.
My girlfriend has got a Clio 1.5dci and piston rings have gone in it
I've got a replacement engine for it, I know how to donor but I'm insure of the ecu? Would I have to unlock it? If so how or is there another way of doing it?
Any help appreciated cheers jp ..

what mark clio is it mate.

If its the mk2 phase 2 you will need Renault to reprogram the ecu to suit your keys and imob to the ecu.

The Immobilizer is on a sort of board behind the dash and is a pain in the arse to sort.

If you can get the same engine and use your ecu and all your electronics.

    Just swap the main block.

If the engines are physically the same then there should be no issues, as long as you swap everything electrically over to it. Even put the injectors in the same order.

Just remember there are 3 different engines (65,80,105bhp) and 2 different head styles to each engine.

Also the engines that use the kkk turbo use a different feed and return for the turbo so that needs to be taken into consideration.
