Alarm keeps going off

  1. #1
Hello. I bought a 1996 1.4i saxo and I locked it with the fob at work and when I started working I got called outside because my alarm was going off. I'm going to sit outside later and lock it with the fob to see if it does it again. But any ideas what to look out for?

Interior sensors(if fitted)also damp in the electrical connections can cause this.

I just lock with the key so the alarm doesn't get activated.

press and hold, light on dash comes on, deactivates the internal sensors = no alarm going off (unless somebody is genuinely steeling it.)
  12. #12
Ok and I don't have to press it again?
  13. #13
You have to press that EVERY time you lock the car to deactivate the sensors...

    noobs

    that's in the handbook.

    Definitely do NOT pm Prickle

I didnt have to. After trying the disconnect battery method to try get my fob working my alarm went apeshit when I reconnected it. Pressed and helod the button on dash for a few seconds and hey presto, no more alarm.

    I will end you.

The interior sensors always reactivate after unlocking and relocking the car with the fob. So you need to press the button every time you want to lock the car with the interior sensors de-activated.

Don't make me get my handbook out and prove you right.

You will find after a search that is a common problem.

I pressed mine once and thats it.. they were deactivated full stop unless i press it again.

I wont agrue with you pal but thats how mine is. like or lump it dude.

Prickle, it seems OP defies you. So does everyone else.

you lose, noob come at me bro!

    your alarm is broken.
  25. #25
My alarm works fine thank you.
  26. #26
mine used to be every time I wanted to lock the car.

Taping over both sensors was another trick back in the day. Whether it worked or not ...

  28. #28
