coolant warning light/fan

    Hi

    I have just joint saxperience.
    i just bought a Saxo Desire 1.1 02 plate.
    Fault when starting engine from cold radiator fan cuts in,also coolant warning light on.Theres is a sensor on the radiator righthand side when looking from the front of the car but no wiring attached to it !!!!!!!.the fan will stay on for 2/3 mn after removing ignition key.
    Has anyone got a wiring diagram of the cooling system, please.

    Sounds like the sensor was dead and previous owner wired it straight to live (maybe) or some people do it when the thermostat is bad or head gasket is going, or to prevent the engine over heating while doing a dodgy sale
