AAARHGHGHGHGHG damn car

Right, having mastered being annoying on a daily basis, my saxo has upped it's game and is now making my blood boil from long range, skillful eh

As many of you know it decided to develope a couple of faults in ze fatherland, it dropped down to running on two cylinders and then locked itself out totally.

Since my return the imobiliser box has been changed with no joy, the ECU has been swapped and that's meant we are getting somewhere, though the car now idles on two cylinders and will only stay alive for aproximately 5 seconds. The garage are saying its an imobiliser problem and the ECU isn't unlocked correctly. Is this possible? I thought the imobiliser would either be on or off. The ECU was sorted for me by Will and Faye at Carworx and dispatched last week, ariving at the dealer this morning. Carworx tested it on a couple of cars before it left to check it worked and so I can't see the imob being the problem.

    Anyone got any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Dave

ps Customer service by Carworx once again superb with this

i really really doubt its immobiliser as you say it should be as clean cut as yes or no. The immobiliser should pick up the key straight away and then start or not. The only possiblity of that would be if the immobiliser was completely fucked. However i dont see why it would run on 2 then die.

    What does immobiliser cut?

I would be tempted to change the coil pack you know how fragile those fuckers are

immob cuts spark but cuts spark completly e.g. both coils not just 1, its easy to test if each plug is sparking by taking the plugs out and earthing them whilst someone turns it over, id also check all injectors are firing correctly as running on 2 cylinders can be due to fuel as well as spark, remove fuel rail and turn engine over, see if fuel comes out of all injectors, same with sparks then report back.

Ratty - Didn't make it explicit, sorry.

Its at a pug dealer on the continent who seem to be pretty good, much better than the retards they have over here

id choose the trailor option mate, better in your hands than in germany, although i dont fancy the drive!

You sure? Those Belgian Motorways are soooooo much fun.

Either that or go out there with a KMS ECU and wire it in there

could do, but if its the injectors or coil pack or sparkys then it wont matter will it

only the injectors left to replace from those three!
