Battery won't go off.

Ignition off, battery light still on, buzzing sound from power steering motor. Help.

ignition off battery light on is usually a current leak from bad diodes in the regulator (new alternator time)

There are 6 diodes, only one failed diode causes the light to stay on permanently.

Your PAS gets its supply directly from the alternator, so check your wiring first to make sure there are no shorts.

I had this on my vts, just to stop the buzzing and save my battery i unclipped pas and undone battery (was working all weekend at the time so had no use for car). never found out the problem as i had enough with it so stripped it and got shell took away

If you have had the same issue then it must be the pas still drawing power once the ignition is off.

Thats not possible,i`d say its a fault on the alternator as thats where the pas gets the current from.

All my electrics are still working with ignition off. Windows, heaters, demister, is this 100% looking a fucked alternator or wiring issue somewhere?

Sounds to me like the ignition relay.

Disconnected the alternator still doing it.

What happens when you pull all the relays from behind the dash? lol

If nothing, then it's probably a wiring fault in the engine bay itself.

    I think it's a wiring fault aswell

I've tried everything possible with limited tools and knowledge. Autoeleccy coming out today so will update the thread with the outcome.

Guy has been and gone, tested virtually everything. Conclusion is: it needs a whole new loom!!!

The bit that goes from the alternator to the dash or something. Short in that.
