Vtr starting issue

    Hi all I got in my car last night and the battery was totally dead...put the charger on it and the key light on the dash now flashes an the car will not start it cranks over and the fuel pump primes but not any sign of starting it has an after market alarm system avital the make.
    Any help would be great

    Sounds like the ecu is locked.

    Why would it all of a sudden randomly lock the ECU ?

    Thinking about your problem again after I replied to you,its possible that your alarm is stopping the car from starting,it wouldn`t explain though why you`ve got the flashing key symbol on the dash.

    yeh it can Do that like he said Might have Ecu lock on

    Just noticed when I turn the ignition on the fuel gauge goes right up to full then right down to empty then does that twice and just goes to the fuel light

    Might be Ecu playing up

    Found on here to check the pins to the ecu relay for power I got readings from the pins that were ment to have power with the ignition on or off, but when I tested the ones that were ment to have power with the ignition ON there was nothing
    Any help would be great
