central locking motors testing help
-
#1
-
#2will be the drivers side motor, that's the only one that controls the rest.
make sure it is mounted correctly, even just a tiny bit out of place can cause problems on these, alternatively, replace the motor, or remove the 2nd plug (there are two plugs on it, one for the control from the central locking module, one is a signal to the rest) although in removing the second plug you'll 'bypass' the central locking and other doors will have to opened manually, although putting after market central locking in will get round this.
edit, reading again, as its working remotely anyway, just disconnect the 2nd plug -
#3ah forgot to mention.
i tired disconnecting the white plug completely and using it, still the same fault.
think i then tried disconnecting the brown too and that disabled the drivers side completely but still had fault on others.. -
#4mm, strange, tried disconnecting the boot lock and giving it a try? I remember having some issues with my boot lock but cannot remember if it caused issues else where.
if not, then you are looking at a wiring issue somewhere, possibly in the drivers door loom, where it goes from the door to car. possibly a wire shorting to earth somewhere (central locking on these is negative pulse, so if a broken trigger wire is touching an earth, it will trigger the doors) or the control unit is at fault -
#5tried disconnecting each of the units individually and still the same.Quote:mm, strange, tried disconnecting the boot lock and giving it a try? I remember having some issues with my boot lock but cannot remember if it caused issues else where.

think ill source spare motors and control unit, failing that its gotta be wiring like you say
cheers
