lowering a gti.

right put this up on owners but its dead so i'll pop over here

right i've just bought a gti and it needs lowering, so looking at springs on ebay and the apex ones which are apparently for a 1.6 only lower a gti 50mm even though they're 60mm springs and the gti has the heaviest engine i believe?
    these ones: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-10...930834&afsrc=1

i then had a look round and found the ones for a 1.1 as i know they all fit just depend on engine weight etc as to how low it'll go. these ones dont mention anything about the gti?
    heres the 1.1 springs: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-10...930834&afsrc=1

someone know anything about this? or reccomend any decent priced -60mm springs for a gti!?

    cheers, lewis

How low do you want? 50mm looks perfect IMO - and the 60mm ones advertised there will likely give you around 50mm in reality.

1.1 springs quote a larger drop, as they run a higher stock height!

I was running the 60mm ones you quoted on my vtr and it lowered 45mm so you should be down to 50/55 with the extra weight you have.

    cheers for the replies
ideally after a 60mm drop as my flatarch 106 was down about 50mm and was a touch too high. should i avoid the apex springs if im after this drop then?
does anyone have any decent springs they'd recommend?
