No steering issues

    Hello.

I started my car and it felt like it had no power steering at all and the steering was stiff to the point where I could barely turn the wheel.

The power steering reservoir is full and doesn't look to have any obvious leaks. It was fine after I drove it 100 yards up the road but goes stiff if I turn the wheel sharply and suddenly. I just don't want it cutting out on me half way down the motor way.

    Any ideas guys? Thanks

Either the pump is failing or the pas relay is faulty.

    As above, relay it pump.

Is it an easy fix? And am I ok to keep using the car if the power steering isn't working?

Pretty self explanatory... New pump or new relay. If you know what you're doing with a multimeter, you can check to see if the switch wire is at fault.

Yes, it's ok to drive it without it working.

Cheers chaps. I think I'll get a mechanic to look at it so I don't balls it up what with steering being fairly important and all that. I might take the pump off you as well Mr Swan. Ill be in touch if I need it. Nice one.

No bother, if you need it drop me a pm.

You can't really go that wrong with the pas pump to be fair, it's only held in by two bolts. Connected by the high pressure and return and the plug.
