Vtr cylinder block drain plug

  1. #1
I have a mark one vtr and im wanting to do a coolant flush today but cant see the cylinder block drain plug, I am I right in thinking it should be on the front of the block near the exhaust manifold?
All I can see that looks anything like a drain plug is located just on top of the oil filter but im guessing this the wrong one.
    Any help appreciated

Oh ok, so i should just use the bottom hose to drain the coolant?

if you are just flushing it why do you need to drain the block so its empty? Just flush with clean water and then refill with coolant

I already bought some rad and coolant system cleaner and it says yo drain the whole system, tbh its the first time im doing something like this so im a bit of a noob

What's the instructions? Personally I've never bothered with that stuff always found hot water, a hose and washing powder more than enough to flush it all even with a bad head gasket failure and oil in the system

Calgon is possibly the best flushing agent for the waterways empty the full system and remove the thermostat then use 2 calgon tablets dissolved in 5 liters of warm water and fill your system up using the bottle header system and then flush as normal you wont believe the shit it brings out.

If i knew this i wouldn't of bothered buying the flush. It's a holts 2 stage flush so you have to drain and refill the system a few times. Thanks the advice though guys at least I'll know what to use in the future
