#2they should have them in stock the lazy bastards!
try somewhere else, the short shaft uses the larger one, long engine side shaft is smaller. -
#3I bought some last week as I'm doing mine. The part numbers are 312144 & 312146 if you need them.
I got them off a parts place on eBay, I was going to get Citroen ones but I didn't fancy paying £28

#4Cheers mate, yeah its just the one im after which is the long engine side so thats the smaller one?
-
#5312146 is the smaller one. Just put the search in eBay and you'll get one for about a fiver.
-
#6I get febi from my local factors for 6.50 a pair.
-
#7ebays the best bet, I got a set from there on a quick delivery thing for about a tenner. get the AX ones with the white castellated bits
-
#8That's the ones I got, £8.00 including next day delivery.
-
#9£1.50 more than the ones I get off the shelf at my local for a pair
-
#10My local place is shit if you want anything other than a service kit. Next nearest place is Europarts and its 20 mile away. Just easy ordering online and getting it pushed through the door.
-
#11Only ever fit genuine seals. I pay about £8 each at Citroen. Worth it in my book.
-
#12I got mine both off eBay and been in since March. No problems with them at all..
-
#13I rang citroen and the bloke said £28 inc VAT for both seals and after buying driveshafts, clutch and new gearbox oil the bank account said no. Just had to get them for £8.00
-
#15That's what I thought.
-
#16I can pick one up from Car spares for £5.24 with VAT 47mm which is the size needed but it doesnt have the white teeth like in the picture you have shown? make any difference?
-
#17Makes no difference, ones with the white teeth are AX ones but there the same.
-
#18Any particular reason for the teeth? Or jus the ones you bought at the time? Thanks alot for your help
-
#19The teeth turn in the seal itself, just helps keep the seal shape when it's fitted and the shafts turning.
I just got them as its what they had in. Don't think it'll make any difference to how the seal will perform. -
#20they're the same part number, not specific to the ax.
-
#21Ive read they protect the seal itself from when you push the shaft in and through it but you'd probably have to be pretty ham fisted to damage a normal one when fitting shafts mind you
