Mk2 VTR - JP4 Conversion Loom question

  1. #1
Is it possible to re use my VTR loom and use a vts ecu when using the jp4 engine

Just bought a VTR and i have a JP4 lump out my 206 sat on my drive, I plan on fitting j4 valve springs?

Also whilst looking on ebay theres a couple of 3 plug vtr ecus being advertised as VTR / VTS ecu,

I cant imagine them being the same...

Can anyone confirm the correct part number on the ecu for the VTS and is there anything else i will need

I notice alot of people use the j4 inlet manifold but i cant see any reason why i cant use the JP4 inlet as all the sensors fit as they should and also have converted it to a cable throttle body

Also if anyone has a loom and ecu for sale then let me know how much! also after valve springs

no 3 plug vtr runs a combined map/air temp sensor all 16vs had them seperate also you'd need to replug the coilpack plug to suit would just get the proper loom lad on ukfo did this and had loads of running issues

the 3 plug 16v ecus are big like the single plug ones it's only the silvertop 8v ecus that are the slimmer ones dead easy to spot, if you don't want to drill the jp4 head for the j4 inlet get a jp4s c2 vts metal inlet and tb adapter from tweeqd then you just run the J4 tb and all normal sensors on there plus no drilling the head then

I have a jp4gt engine and a jp4 normal, but i dont see any reason why i would have to fit the J4 inlet as in, I have a a adaptor converting the JP4 standard inlet to fit the J4 throttle bodie all sensors are in place as they would be on the J4 inlet ? seems confusing why people go to the effort of drilling the head to fit a j4 inlet

my inlets the same as that, i do have a j4 inlet spair i just cant see anything obviouse as to why it cant be used ?

even if you use ally c2 vts inlet on jp4 you should fit the extra bolts as the jp4 have a habit of breakingstuds +getting air leaks as there are not enough bolts especially once you go to t/bodies or boost
so fiitn j4 inlet cires all the problems at one go
