   i have been having problems every now and again.
   When i have been traveling for about 3 miles my saxo would loose the brakes, stearing and power then the engine would cut out. While driving i would have to turn the car on and off again as its the only thing i could do.
   
   I took it to the garage and they couldnt find anything wrong with it.
   
   It happened after a very bad rainy day. Its stopped now just wondering if anyone had a similair problem

   Does it have any sort of after market alarm or immobiliser on it? I fit a Toad on my car and If I unlocked the car without using the button it would start but after a while the toad system would kick in and the engine would stop.

   After some bad rain you say, I'd look at your air filter.

   Could be a crankshaft position sensor it could have a intermittent fault

   Possible water in the electrics which has now dried out?
