Cheapest way of makin a vtr fast is sell it and buy a vts lol
  3. #3
    1.1 gearbox
  4. #4
Mushy people who have a vtr have them for a reason that reason being they carn't afford the insurance on a vts seeing as they are double the insurance group as a vtr!! vtr group (7) vts (14) thats why he wants to mod what he's got!!
  5. #5
    cams
    superchip/remap
    manifold

expensive mods but alot of power can be gained from them..

well as your modding your car the insurance will go up so might work out cheeper to buy a vts

    if not

lose the pipercross filter and get an enclosed filter bmc or green
    magnex or piper exhaust
    de cat
    4-1 manifold
    then its cam and headwork
    re map
    then turbo/supercharger/throttle bodies
  7. #7
    1. induction kit
    2. magnex exhaust system
    3. 4-2-1 manifold
    4. lightened crank
    5. piper cams
    6. superchip and tune on rolling road
    7. ultimately a new gearbox
    8. gas flowed
    9. supercharged
    10. last but not least u can always drop a vts head on and change all ya ecu setting and pretty all the inlet outlet manifolds

that's wot i intend to do to mine anyways hope this helps!

that will cost a fortune would be cheaper to buy a VTS

Cheapest way to make a VTR faster - Strip it

If ur after serious power - VTS and then begin ur list of mods
  12. #12
the insurance on a vts compared to my vtr was £2000 so i opted for the cheaper option. the mods with out declarin mount to a bit less
  13. #13
vts conversion? or cams, remap headwork, manifold and strip the guts out of it,

Cheers s34mer some people just don't understand that, and if he is only young (i.e just passed test) then the insurance would cripple him on a vts. How do you get rep mate.

vts engine is cheaper, and most of what you've said is bollocks anyway. and not declaring modifications to your insurance company is for braindead morons. if you cant afford the insurance then dont drive it, full stop.

1.1 changes the gearing because its used for a lower power engine. so a 1.6 would rinse it though the gears, but have a top speed of about 80mph. gearbox wouldn't last too long with extra power though.

421 manifold is refering to the link between engine and exhaust. one pipe from each cylinder (4 all together) becomes 2 pipes, and then they join into one to connect to your exhaust. you can get 4-1 manifolds, which i think are better, not sure tbh.

the gearbox are made of the same material. in some cases the boxes are actually the same box used between models and just the final drive altered to suit.
