abs light problem saxo vts 1.6

  1. #1
So I was coming home tonight from shopping and found my ABS light has come on and will not go off. Where are all the sensors located at? Are they on each well or are they also located at different section of engine too?
Would this be something covered in a full service that's just been done on car or not covered.

Car has also had full set of disc and pads put on.

If you take the wheel off *not my pic

Wire to the left. theres a little box if you follow the wire, open it and pull the blue plug apart.. will have a metal clip in it

bottom has 2 nuts holding it in.

    same for rears

Thx Prickle now all I need to do is jack up and look and see whats what. Thx for the advise and pictures much appreciated.

Just one more question on this. How do I know if their broken is their anything to look out for or use maybe a meter to test connectivity or something?

Ok found out what one it is. After having a computer to it, free of charge thx to a man in a shop when I was asking for parts as said unsure what one it is. And said tell you what give me 5 min ill hook it up to my machine for you in the van. How lucky was that. Would of cost £40 to do that to find the problem.

I need 1 rear right side sensor.

Now the question is how do I go about testing the circuit with a oms meter ?

Unplug each sensor one by one.

    it should be 900-1100 ohms.

You'll find one of the sensors is open circuit or shorted completely.

Had the right side replaced with new and had to also change the left side too as when it was changed with new the error didn't go so not sure what on earth was going on with it as with the left one couldn't remove so had to brake it in order to remove guess something wrong with the left side too. Change the left with the old right one that threw the error up to begin with and then put in new on right after some driving down street and braking as advised light went out and now not a problem.

Thanks for all the advise given above from the members who provided the advise.
