Insurance question?

No one is answering in the correct category so thought i would ask here

Hi i am 19 years old, have a full uk driving licence for two years in october, i drive a 1.1i saxo, i have 0 NCB and my insurance is stupid!

    This is how it works:

I have had dodgy insurance in the past which worked well but wanted to start building ncb so as far as insurase know this is my first policy, i have been with elephant for 3 months, it all started well with a annual premium of £1300 which compaired to 4000+ to other companys that i had chance to check, so phoned elephant and because i couldnt afford a one off payment i went monthly which increased it to £1800, roughly £190 PCM, i was happy with this as it was next to nothing deposit and i was on yhe road with a 6 minute phone call ! (I was overal happy with this) would have liked it cheaper who wouldn't ?

So this is when it went down hill 2months in they asked me for copy of driving card licence and paper, i sent that and theydound out about my 3points i did not declair because they was from when i had dodgy insurance so i didnt want to tell them because as far as they know i have never been insured, it was for not following road instructions (entering a no entry sign) and well anyway that bump my policy up to £2800!!!! :@ and roughly that is £268 PCM i am atill using them at the moment but i cant afford that for ever!

So does anybody have any ideas what to do? In my situation i need either a cheaper company or a company that wont ask for my recoreds maybe? Any advice ? Like im 19 now in october will have held my licence for two years, got to wait for another 3 years efore my points are dropped, its a steep price considering with dodgy insurance i was paying 700 on a 2L subaru turbo at 17! Which i was using this (dodgy guy) for well over a year (but he dissapeared off te market either fruad in prisonment or got on top) but yeah they wonder why people do things the dodgy way, !!! The price is stupid! Makes me want to go back to dodgy and forget a NCD but i want to do it properly does anybody know better company or so on? And will it cost to cancel my currect policy? 4months in thanks

    Kind regards

People aren`t answering because most are either at work or college,if you post in the insurance section during the evening then you`ll get a response.

Basically you've got three points and every insurance company will want to see your licence because your so young. Far as I'm aware nearly every company will do it, even if they don't ask chances are the premium will be massive.

All you can really do is either take it on the chin and pay up. Everyone had to pay insurance it's just the way it is. All you can do is shop around and see what you can find.

As your paying monthly you'll not have to pay anything to cancel, if you stop paying they'll cancel your insurance.

If you put a bird on your insurance then it might be slightly cheaper.

    As said in previous thread...

Try growing up. The rest of us deal with the consequences of our mistakes, deal with yours. If you can't afford to drive, then don't drive, or get a cheaper car to insure.

    Kind regards.

I've never been asked for my driving licence and I've been with admiral since I were 19.
For me at 19 on my 1.4 was only £850 iirc.

In fact paying £2800 with your points declared is worth paying as they have the right to have canceled your policy and report you for fraud which could have ment a hefty fine.

Just consider people at 17 wanting to get insurance and no claims the correct way. They are paying way more than your £2800

There's plenty of immaturity. You're questioning the cost/fairness of the charge, when you've been insuring yourself illegally for the last two years, and then think that coming on to a public forum to complain about the price you're currently paying, and telling everyone about your fraudulent insurance is a good idea?

Like he said, suck it up, you didn't declare your points, count yourself lucky they didn't void the policy, it could've gone a lot worse for you.

You want cheaper insurance, don't drive a Saxo. The loading on them is ridiculous btw, you'd get legally insured on something much cheaper if it wasn't a Saxo. That's a guarantee, irrespective of your shady insurance past.

What's the conviction code for the points btw?

FT10 i think, and no I'm not saying what i did
Was good, I'm saying there has to be a cheaper way that what i was paying which now i found it with adrian flux for 196PCM so i got what i wanted any way, with my declaires and why it isn't immature is because it states i want to do it properly, and build ncb ect with mods everything on my insurance,
It wasn't moaning it was trying to find cheaper and i wasn't bosting i was saying i want to do it properly and comparing then to now, it was a detailed write up about my situation so people understood

Lol, you're asking about how not to declare your points? Bah, just don't get any insurance, you won't have to declare anything then.

Wrong, you had some answers. The answers are, don't drive like a tit, and don't drive on pikey insurance.
