Ignition off and battery light still on

    Thought i would start another topic to see if i could pull in some fresh ideas as car is still fucked.

    Symptom: I get the headgasket changed and i'm driving round in it for a couple of days. I turn the ignition off and remove key noticing the pas pump is buzzing. I then later realise the battery light is also on but very dimly. If i change the wiper settings the battery light gets brighter as the setting gets higher. I can also use all the accessory electrics like windows, heater etc.

    What i've done so far:
    Pulled every fuse and relay individually in glovebox and engine box. I can kill the electrics this way inclu pas pump but battery light still on.

    Disconnect alternator and no change.

    Removed ignition barrel and swapped with different one, no change.

    Removed and also swapped pas pump relay, no change

    Removed and swapped ignition relay, no change

    Disconnected wiring to dash unit, no change.

    Changed the battery, no change

    Checked earths and all in good condition.

    Is there anything left to try?

    Not yet, was hoping there might be something else someone can think of before i change it.

    I had exactly same problem? I posted on here te other day, in your case might be different! But halfords.... Idiots wired my stereo, with constant and igniotion Live+ into my system, which cuases a (loop) like house electrics, which gives you power to certain electrics without ignition on.. Cause, remember ignition is just a switch to tell things to eiter recieve or not to recieve power, sooo somewere down the line your bypassing that switch, and having constant live on constant which makes your light come on because, when a car is normal one click on key brings battery light to say there is power ? But no charge, so thats were your cars heads at thinks like ( a 1st click on the key) so find that problem! And sorted!! My case was my stereo system, your case not sure, but dont change loom waste of cash and effort, take your time disconnect different things ecery other day? Took me 3 weeks to find my source and that was only because i was changing my stereo to a new one i come across the problem happysearching!
