Not for a saxo, after some for my a3, but haven't needed to change brakes on a car in ages, so no idea Whats good and not. Any recommends? Audi tdi Quattro 170 if that matters

Mintex have always been reliable pads.

Actual genuine Audi ones will be best mate. I don't mean the o.e spec ones fr a factors. The genuine Audi ones from the dealer.

I tend to steer away from the factors sutff, I know they're all supposed to pass minimum safety and performance tests but with brakes theres nothing wrong with spending the cash. You get what you pay for. I don't know enough about the different compounds used in brake pads but I once decided to treat my old Vectra SRi to genuine Vauxhall pads and discs and the difference between them and the factors items they replaced was immense. Much better performance. My advice would be to spend as much as you can afford.

Spend as much as I can afford?! More expensive doesn't always mean they are the best! And if I did that the brakes would be over kill!

Have you spoke to Kev from KAM? See if he can sort you out with CL pads. Should make a good difference.

This is what I thought, sometimes they`ll produce for a dealer & re-badge with the dealers logo on them.

I'd probably say the CL Brakes stuff is more suited to the more hardcore setup - that weekend car or trackday car. I'd personally go for Ferodo DS2500 or Mintex M1144 on an everyday high performance car.

All i meant bud was if you can stretch the extra few quid to get genuine pads instead of patent stuff then its worth it.

Ross. I appreciate it enough I would give you a man hug if I saw you lol. They are great stuff though! I'm fitting CL Brake pads to my AE86.
Some people dont like the fact they have no anti rattle shims so moan at the pad noise when cold so I tend to sway people towards a pad you forget about, but arguably is not as capable at stopping a car whatever you throw at it...
