Lighting Electrical Gremlin

So I got a 53 plate VTR recently with naff headunit fitted, I'm stripping it out anyway so I wasnt too fussed.

Anyway, I noticed the OS sidelight permanently on along with the interior illumination. Then when removing the HU I noticed a thin blue wire botched into the bullet connector for the permanent live at the back of the headunit. I pulled out the wire and the sidelight and interior illumination went off.

Then the side lights only work on the NS with no interior illumination.

The dipped headlights work with ignition on.

If I switch the thin blue wire to the switched live at the back of the headunit, I get interior illumination and NS sidelights when ignition switched.

I've think I can trace the wire to the plug at the back of the passenger fusebox. I'm pretty sure the wire should be there for illumination on the oem headunit, but I cant understand how its connected to the sidelights and different sides (half understandable if both were either on or off?)

Anyhoo, thats about it, can anyone help (if you're still reading!)

    Errr....never mind

I used the search facility and it turns out Fuse 12 had blown. Replaced and now works fine
