missing a beat

ok thought I had a bout of dodgy fuel but turns out it wasn't as changed filter and used the good stuff for a bit, so .......
when out driving when giving it some beans it seems to skip a beat as in brroooooooooo-----ooooooommmmmm and car lurches and carries on as normal. am I right in thinking coil pack?

Could very well be. Has it been regularly serviced? i.e. spark plugs? Usually the most common misfire is plugs or if your a Saxo owner, coilpack.

Liking the brrrooooo----ooommmm sounds just like my car haha.. Sounds like you are on the right track with the coil pack though, check the plugs first?

One sign the coil pack is faulty will be sooty coloured plugs, where it makes the car overfuel.

Yea car serviced regular plugs changed about 7 month ago. And coil pack was replaced about year n half ago with a cheap one from Eurocarparts

Rather New as a part from breakers will be at least 10 years old anyway

How about the mk1 Focus modification I read about as an alternate to fitting a new coilpack? Are there any benefits over the standard coil pack?

No benefit. It's still wasted spark style.

Well, I lie a little, the only advantage is you can move it away from the heat of the engine.
