VTS alarm/fob/battery disconected, help?

   Hey guys.
   
   right, my fob didnt work when i bought the car, changed battery and still not working.
   
   Done a little searching on here and have tried the 20 second method, still no luck.
   
   Another thread said to disconnect the battery for roughly 30mins, ive done this but have yet to connect it again.
   
   Ive since read another thread which says that because ive disconnected the battery i wil have to reset the central locking.. How is this done? (was conflicting info in said thread)
   
   AND, if that doesnt work is the alarm going to go off whenever i open the door with the key with the fob still not working?

   UPDATE - reconnected the battery and its still not working.
   
   Any ideas guys? I would idealy like it to be alarmed!

   has it had another alarm fitted on it in the past?

   Not that im aware of.
   
   Has a small red LED at the far left under the centre heater vent.

   Normally, to re-pair the fob you lock and unlock the drivers door, and press the lock button on the fob within 10 seconds, twice. should lock on the second press.
   
   When you reconnect the main car battery, the alarm is active. When you open the door the alarm should sound and indicators flash, put the key in the ignition and press the alarm button on the dash and hold it until the alarm goes off. it should go off within a few seconds.
   
   
   At least, that's as much as I know.

   i opened the door after reconnecting the battery and nothing at all happend..
   
   No alarm etc :/

   Have you checked no wires have been cut or out? could be something silly

   I have a different problem to yours.......I think
   
   
   My fob works in that they make the central locking noise and cause the hazard lights to flash as they would when locking and unlocking the doors but what doesn't happen is the doors actually unlocking.
   
   I have to use the key in the drivers door to unlock both doors
   
   I also have no alarm but if I open the door when I have pressed the fob the hazard lights will flash bit feck all noise.
