vtr rear axle

    hi Ive got a vtr that need the rear axle replaced Ive got access to a rear axle BUT its got drum brakes and mine has disc brake can the drum be removed and replaced with the discs off my vtr with now hassle or modification any help would be gratefully received

    I think the stubs are different but iam sure some1 knows a bit better then i do

    You can replace with discs, but surly by the time you have done all that work its a better and safer bet to just get a new axle from IM axles?

    yeah basically the trailing arm bushes have gone on the vtr and it cheaper to get a good axle than it is to get a set of bushes

    Dont see it being a problem but check everything to make sure it fits compare them both and see if something doesnt match up then it wont fit

    Discs won't fit on drum brake axles. Trailing arms are different. Exchange axle from IM is best bet.

    Nope, the stub axles are different, they are shorter on the drum axle. But you can change them for the VTR stub axles. Just bang them out.

    I have done it before. Both axles side by side, strip the drum axle down to a bare axle, then put your VTR stuff on it. Its time consuming, but straightforward enough.
