Average running temp 1.1

    Hi Ive recently changed the headgasket on my 1.1 Desire and may be a bit temp gauge obssesed. When the car is on a good run the temp stays just below half but as soon as I drive around town it goes over half and he fan comes on around every 5 minutes. Ive had a new waterpump and flushed the system previous but didnt change thermostat. Just wondered does this sound normal for a 1.1 or should I flush again and change thermostat. Cheers. O and its not loosing water ta.

    That is normal. There is less air flow at low speeds, so the fan kicks in.

    //end thread

    If the stat was jammed, the gauge would be off the top of the scale in no time. Don't touch anything, it's fine.
