need some help

    we have a saxo vts and the engine seized so my partners brother put a 106 gti engine. But now nothing is right. There is a misfire coming back off the machine as misfire cylinder 1. the coil pack has been changed new spark plugs have been put in. Also brand new gear linkages have been put on but one keeps popping off and think the gearbox/ clutch needs realigning. We didnt put a unlocked ecu in as the car turned on. Any ideas?

    dont mean to sound harsh but take it back to your partners brother?
    If hes only changed the engine (and kept all the sensors, ecu etc correct) then there shouldnt be a problem.
    Gear linkages sometimes have clips if they are aftermarket ones to hold them on, or there arent pushed down correctly

    Hes doesnt know whats the matter with it, hes not a mechanic by trade
