#260 and put the pedal to the floor and it wouldn't go faster revs were normal but? First gear is fine then when I go in to second gear I gave to do my revs slow to climb speed , really annoying on motorways , confused any ideas?
-
#3I have to do my revs slow to gain speed ,!
-
#4Just wait for a reply. bumping it up wont make someone reply any faster.
-
#5Soz people trying to explain this is easiest as possable
-
#6My go that has given me a headache trying to read that.
What are you saying.
When you put your foot down the revs build up normally? However the speed doesn't ?
If that is the case then I'd say clutch is slipping slightly at higher speeds.
On the other hand if that isn't what your saying.
Is there any engine light on the dash?
Could be the map sensor at fault. In plug it and go for another drive and see if it makes any difference. -
#7That's not even scottish
-
#8We're is the map sensor , I've no cat so that light is on m8 , hope it's not the clutch , the first gear seams pretty strong but.?
-
#9New to this tapa talk thing so for the gibberish lol
-
#10Doesn't sound like the clutch to me. If it was then the revs would go up quickly but not the speed.
-
#11Ecu in limp mode?
-
#12Sounds like spare wheel cage is dragging on floor or could be old type exhaust rubbers starting to go.
-
#14That's its m8 revs go's up quickly and speed goes up slow
I'm thinking it could be clutch slipping now m8 ,, but does it not judder?
-
#1599% its the clutch then mate. To double check it. Sit still with the handbrake fully on. Put the car in 4th gear and try to pull away. if the clutch comes right up and the car doesn't move then the clutch is gone. If the car pulls away or stalls then its ok.

#17Cool cheers m8
-
#18Spot on way to test the clutch.. couldn't have put it better myself
-
#19If the revs shoot up while no change in speed = the clutch is shot. No need to test in 4th with the clutch and handbrake on. It's new clutch plate time.
