Hi guys, my PAS stopped working recently so I repaired it by prying the lid off the motor and freed the brushes. It works now perfectly but only about two minutes
then the steering gets heavier and feels horrible around the center position. If I smack it with hammer it sometimes gets better but only for a while.
I actually drove the car with the PAS pump off and it feels ok but the steering is ridiculously heavy after like half a turn. I read here that the solution is draining the fluid off the system and then the steering should be ligher like a normal non pas car. People usually disconnect the hoses that run from the pump to the rack and blank them. But because I have left hand drive Saxo theres the huge brake servo over those bolts and it looks like a lot of pain to get it off.. So the actual question is - Can I unscrew the two pipes right at the ram and drain it throught here? The pump and all the other stuff can stay on the car.
