Problems with clutch pedal/gearbox

  1. #1
Will describe it the best i can, so hopefully someone can tell me what my exact problem is (i have a rough idea to what it is)

    Here goes:

Stood still with engine on or off, clutch pedal/box is fine.
as soon as you start driving and pick up speed, the clutch pedal goes solid and cant be pressed. Now iv figured out if you rev the car slightly, pedal will go back to normal to change gear. (will go solid everytime you pick up speed)

When changing down a gear, you have to slow right down (obviously for the pedal to go back to normal, whilst giving it a little rev) but if im not going slow enough and try and change down a gear....it grinds like f**k until it slots in, or i have to force it...depends what damn mood its in lol.

After being driven and stood still, with clutch pedal down to floor......as soon as you slot it in gear it makes a whining noise.(clutch still to floor)

I have even put a fresh 2 litres of oil in to see if it made any difference, it hasn't hence why i'm asking for help.

Now for my rough idea: i 'think' the bearing has/is jumping off the fork inside the box.
    Am i right?

    Cheers.

Got another gearbox coming to me on saturday just in case.

I would say it's something to do with the thrust bearing mate and needs to be sorted asap to stop damage to ur gearbox. Ive got trouble with mine atm where it's sounding like ive got a pet mouse in the car so im sorting it soon.

Engine is coming out tomorrow, so will see what state the bearing is in. I just hope its still in 1 piece seeing as you can't buy them seperately

You can buy them separately, I got a proper Valeo one from an eBay store for 25 quid I think it was

to be honest mate i wouldve thought your clutch would be buggered with the trouble you have been having so prob best to get a new kit. I expect the pressure plate springs to be a right mess
