Turbo vacuum hoses ... follow on

  1. #1
Hi was reading the thread jsdvtr made about turbo vacuum hoses and I'm not sure if mines is now connected up correctly or not

Didn't want to highjack his so thought I would post myself

My car runs the 5th injector and mf2 and the boost s controlled with the apexi avcr.

I took these pictures of the set up

I have the aftermarket map sensor with the blue hose that is then connected to the dump valve then off this same hose the apexi pressure controller is plumb in and the saxo fpr is also attached to this hose it then loops back under the inlet manifold and does not come out the other side so it much go on to a nipple under there i'm guessing.

The nipple where I see people normally connect a dump valve to on the top of the throttle body has been blocked off with hose and bolt.

Please see my amazing diagram lol

That one from TB - unblock it, and send it to dumpvalve

Fpr - leave as was standard, it shouldn't need extra vaccine from waste gate actuator (as per your photo) or is that tee'd off for your MF2? Only 3 pictures are showing for me, but tb - DV should be one connection, if you want to run a boost gauge, tee that line.

Ok thought that was the case after looking at other peoples turbo photos as there all connected there so I will connect the dump valve straight in to the throttle body .

The boost gauge is built in to the apexi controller and seems to work ok from the apexi pressure sensor that gives its reading and this is connected to the same line as the fpr.

Where does the fpr normally connect to standard ? ( the nipple under the inlet manifold ? )

At the moment my FPR is connected to the map sensor, apexi pressure sensor and then connected to something underneath the inlet manifold.

the diagram must not be showing as that one is the easiest to work out whas connected where i'll post that one again -

Is the apexi a boost controller?

If so, ive got a gizzmo and from the diagram in the instructions, the solenoid, turbo and wastegate have its own vaccum setup and is seperate to the inlet, DV, etc.

Yeah the apexi avcr is a boost controller this has a solenoid that connects as you say to the turbo, actuator but it does have a pressure switch with it and this is a part of the vacuum side of things.

Connected the dump valve straight on to the throttle body now and works ok.

Do I need to change any of the other pipes ?
