Water in pass footwell

  1. #1
    Hi fellas,

I know it has been covered quite a bit, but my mrs's saxo has just started to fill up with water in the pass side footwell.

I have checked the door seal and it seems fine, will have a look at the aerial tomorrow and after searching i see in some posts it mentions the sunroof drain holes and the holes in the scuttle panel. Can someone point me in the right direction where to look for these?

The sunroof seal seems fine, as i opened it earlier today and there was no water collecting around the top, which if the drain holes were blocked i would of thought it would.

    Thanks in advance Dave

Ok thanks, will have a look tomorrow, just had a quick look now and it is strange as all the underlay is bone dry just the carpet is wet on the top, i had a quick look under the bonnet and the scuttle panel was full of water, and where i think the drain holes are in the corners was full of leaves, so will have a better look in the morning when it is light and hopefully not pi55ing down so much.

Might be that the sills have rotted on the sunroof, theres a low spot where water pools and will eventually rust, just had to repair mine with some fibreglass. Get the roof lining out to have a proper look.

I have water coming in from a split weld on the roof but I doubt that would be a problem unless youve had some damage to the car.

I had a good look around the sunroof earlier on today, and checked the drain holes and all was good, had the A pillar trim off and pulled the roof lining down.

Might be a leak from the heater matrix or a hole in the Floor

    Cheers for the help fellas,

Had a good look round this morning, heater matrix is dry and no loss of coolant.
Sunroof seal appears good, i used a plastic syringe and some old wiper washer jet hose i had lying around, and squirted water down the sunroof drains and they are all good and clear.

The only problem i found was that both the scuttle panel drain holes were really blocked with leaves and dirt so have cleaned those out, and poured water down and all fine now. Have dried the inside out so will just have to wait and see now if that has solved it, next time it rains.

That's probably what it was if the drains were blocked in the scuttle panel, I was going to suggest checking the windscreen seal
