Hi all,
Have tried three second hand alternators from the scrappy and they put out 2v or there abouts with the positive disconnected.
I decided to splash out on a brand new alternator, but unfortunately it doesn't charge the battery either. Ive taken off the positive cable and the multimeter is showing a voltage of 1.8v lol. I have had the bracket powder coated but i have tested that the alternator casing is earthed to the battery negative.
2001 vts with the plug on the alternator.
Anyone any suggestions? Will making a really good earth between the casing and the battery negative just to rule out an earth problem do anygood?
Any help welcome
