I'm sure this has been asked many a time before but can any one give me rough idea of how long it would take a garage to fit a rear axle? They told me they can't give a fixd price and would cost £48 an hour. I don't know if this is good or bad? Thanks ( dont want to pay over £200) even 200 is way too much. Thanks

#2Swapping it over may take an hour or so. Depends whether the brake lines come apart or some need replacing..

#3My fix: Take it down, repair, put it up = 3 hours

#4Need drum brakes taking off my old. Axle and putting on the new one. So probably a few hours not a whole day lol?

#5if the cylinders and pipes don't need replacing then only a few hours, if the pipes, cylinders and shoes need replacing you'd be about half a day. If in turn - when bleeding the brakes- the fronts need bled and in turn require the calipers replaced then you will be about a day

#6Fair enough, would you say £48 an hour is a fair price? I'm not sure what garages charge hourly...
