Fan stays on, help?

   I own a saxo vtr 1.6 2002 plate, about 3 days ago my temp gauge started going into the red and the light was coming on so I bleed the system cause I thought it was an air lock it turned out to be the temp sensor which I replaced. It was fine till tonight the fan wouldn't turn off but the temp gauge was fine and no light was on, it started at 12 and stayed on till 3 and that was while driving in idle and while the engine was off so I checked all the fuses and they were fine but it wouldn't go off so I removed the fuse so it didn't drain my battery. Any ideas??

   Faulty fan switch, only about £10 I think.

   temperature sensor in the housing on the side of the head.
   iirc there about £23 for a genuine one
