Auto gear box illumination

   Can anyone tell me if the gear shift on my (wife's) Saxo auto should light up, as it's really hard to work out where the shift should be in the dark. A silly problem I know, but a problem none the less

   It sounds like the bulb is gone - yes, it should always be lit.

   Yes it should,you`ll have to carefully prise up the plastic surround to access the bulb.

   Right! I've changed the dashboard centre console, the radio cassette for a CD player, nicked the bulb from the cigarette lighter and put it under indicator strip so I can now see what "gear" I'm in. Just need to order some new bulbs and I'll refit one in the ciragette lighter (when I have more time, as its not the easiest bulb to get to) my wife is now chuffed to bits

   Buy a Hawke kit,info on installation is in the ICE section.

   I looked at that but hers opens with a key, it does have central locking just not on a push button, so I'm a bit lost

    Please could someone tell me the bulb type/value, as I went & dropped mine while retrieving it from under the cover. Its now in 100 pieces
