HI James Do you know how much travel you have on your suspension at the front? This will make a big difference to which springs to use ! A car will always handle better if it's under sprung and over damped! The sums FR ,,, 276kg = 605lbs therefore if you have one inch of preload on your existing spring it will be almost equal to the weight of that corner, hence it is very stiff to compress! If for instance you had a spring rated at 200lbs it would be possible to preload it 1.5'' and this would give 1/2'' of travel to equal the corner weight!...... A 150lb spring would give 2'' of travel with 2'' of preload etc... Tell me if you think I am wrong but it's the way I've set my car up and have had great results with it so far. |
Car up corner weighted etc has said this, the front is about four fingers from tyre to arch (maybe due to 13" 60profile tyres) but I can't go much lower as I will be on the bump stops... I will re adjust the rear 15mm higher then the front but he seems certain the car is too stiff I have snetterton booked for 16th of November and not much time to get this sorted! Coil overs are the 'track set up ast sportline1s'
