A creak when turning left at low speed

  1. #1
Usually when im parking if i turn left i get a loud creak noise from the front

I dont have droplinks on the car and have recently changed the steering rack a few months ago for a 2nd hand one off ebay.

Am i right in thinking its the steering rack doing the noise? or could it be top mounts? what else could it be?

    thanks

Top mounts or a worn driveshaft cv joint, have a look for a split gaiter & a grey coloured grease around the joint.

yeah both inner cv gaiters are split as theyve been for ages lol only due to being too low on hydraulics

never knew that could cause a noise when steering? the inner ones dont move when steering do they?

No the inner ones don`t move but theres still stress on the joint.

Can also be the whishbone bushes, depending where the noise can come on. In a limit, engine mount in one side

I changed my drive shaft due to a creak, in all fairness it turned out the cv joint was on its way out but it turned out to be the wishbone moving seperate to the bush
