Car not running right

    Hi all,

I am new to this forum, so first glad to be a member.

I bought my missus a little Vreg saxo, 1.1 about 8 months ago. Car ran great, full service history etc with about 74K on the clocks. about 5 months ago it started to run rough at idle when first started. Serviced it, new oil and filters including fuel, new plugs, still not cured it. Now that it is colder in the mornings it's a real struggle to start. If you miss it first time it floods and almost impossible to start again. When it's warm it runs fine, just when it's cold. Pulling away is also a nightmare, like its bucking and rearing driving along! lol. took it to a mechanic and he recons it's the automatic choke, and the carburettor needs replacing. Well they are more expensive than what the car is worth unfortunately. I don't want to get rid of it as it's a fantastic little car, just this letting it down. anyone have had the same experience with this? It also sounds like its miss firing. So not sure if the choke is making it run way too rich for too long, or is it a missfire? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Errr these don't have a carb on them it'll be single point injection.
Cheapest option would be the sensors in the cooling system.
One should be ecu and other temp gague/light.
