Flashing lights

   When I brake my speedo lights up and my headlights flash but the other day my left sided rear light wasn't working but just the brake the reverse and everything else was fine, what could this be??

   Also don't know if it is because of this just had a sub and amp installed and got it earthed to the boot catch, I'm pretty sure the speedo was still lighting up when I was driving it a couple days ago

   Its an earthing problem.

   How would I got about sorting that out? I earthed the sub to the boot catch, where else could I earth it to at the back. What's the best solution??

   Have a read up on wiring a sub in the ice section,also stop using the catch as an earth & see what that does to the dash lights.If they`re still the same then check the rear light bulbs.

   Had this on a Ford sierra many moons ago, as stevo67 said it's an earthing problem. Because the multi plugs on the rear lights of the sierra were pants I soldered an earth wire direct to the earth track in the rear light clusters. I still see it on some cars today sat at a junction indicating and all the back lights are flashing not very brightly.

   Ok mate cheers I seen on a thread a min ago sand off some paint around a bolt under the rear bench and earth it to there may give that a go

   Had this happen a lot of times with customers cars. Either you've put a single filament bulb in a twin filament holder (the brake/tail light bulb) or you've put the double filament bulb in back to front.
   It bridges the brake light feed into the illumination circuit and vice versa
   Pull the tail light bulb out and see if it sorts the issue (I'd start with the side that only one light works on)

    So you don't reckon is the sub then mate? I was having problems with my brake light before I installed my sub but didn't notice any flashing of the speedo but can't say it wasn't. I'll try the bulb first and see if that's it sorted. Cheers for the help
