Non start, HELP!

Right so i have 2 saxo, one for personal use and one is to sell on. Unfortunatly ive given my personal saxo alot of attention lately and ive abandoned the other saxo. I have to admit it hasnt been started for a couple of weeks.

Anyway so ive just done some work on it, i also replaced the battery and attempted to start it. But no poor little saxo wont start, im certain its the right battery and i cant think of why it wont start.

Now it was a little damp in my garage and as it was stood for weeks im sure that didnt help.

Can someone please lead me in the right direction as to what checks i should do and possibly tell me what should i change eg spark plugs.

When you say won't start could you possibly give some more detail ?

does the engine turn over? do you hear the fuel pump prime?

Try checking the fuel cut off switch on the right hand side under the bonnet, (red button)

I doubt the spark plugs would be an issue after two weeks its highly unlikely, did you replace the battery with a brand new one?

If the engine does not turn over then it could possibly be the starter solenoid or starter motor, or a bad ground wire due to the damp. Try checking the fuses as well.

hopefully if its only been two weeks like you say its likely to be something minor!

Apologies for the lack of detail but yes it does turn over fine, battery thats i replaced the old one with was brand new, and i hear the engine prime, im baffled

hmm id still give the inertia switch a try, id bank on something electrical though as it sounds like its not sparking, is the immobiliser light flashing on the dash by chance ?

sorry what model of saxo is this ? forgot to ask

Its a 1.1 petrol desire, inertia switch is fine, but yes the immobiliser light flashes when the engine turns...

just recently i had a problem with immobiliser light flashing when my car had been stood for 4 months without a battery, i left the battery on over night and it seemed to reset itself and when i tried the key in the morning it started and the light no longer flashed

not sure if this is totally correct but i heard on some models the light flashes until the engine is started, i may be wrong on that.

if the immobiliser is kicking in i think it should be a rapid flash?

    hope this helps..

Hmmm yeah my mango saxo flashes until the engine starts hence i think its normal tbh, however i didnt leave the battery connected due to the hazards button being stuck on, ill try that though, thanks!

Mmm i dont think thats the problem in my case as the battery had been disconnected before, plus the stereo in it isnt standard so id be screwed
