There is very very few auto's about. Having been on here for years and worked on many Saxo's & 106's I have never come across one to date. Certainly on the manual boxes they don't have a dip stick to check oil level. To my knowledge auto's don't have a gearbox dip stick either.
I do have access to Citroen service box though so ill double check now.

Iirc the gearbox doesn't have any form of dipstick - it's filled and drained like a manual. Plug on the bottom for drain, plug on side for filling - full till oil comes out.

Thanks, wanted to make sure before I went ahead , Haynes manual says to refill auto gearbox through dipstick! but general opinion would say there isnt one.Want to get under car as little as possible due to bad back .

Nice one Stevo,it does indeed have one , not an obvious dip stick to me but glad to find it and my level is kind of low , gives me an idea how to proceed now

most auto boxes need to be checked when running, find a haynes manual and check in there.

you check the level with the engine and gearbox up to temperature, engine running and gearbox in neutral, not park.

Tried to get a filtef from Ashford Citroen Dealer, they said it was called a strainer an
d wasnt a renewable part, the Haynes manual disagrees and says to change the filter!.
Anyway I did a complete oil change and filled to correct level and my gearbox issues seem to have gone , which is fookin great
