Will try and explain the best i can from the beginning. here goes:
Took my vtr off the road 3 weeks ago due to breaking the gearbox, while it has been off the road iv fitted FMIC, turbo kit, another gearbox, a used clutch release bearing, a new drivers side driveshaft, fresh engine and gearbox oil. Once it got all built back up, started engineand check everything works the way it did before coming off the road.....it didn't, i couldn't get it to select any gear while engine was running, trying to select reverse grinded (engine off, popped into any gear).
Took gearbox back off (sigh), replaced used release bearing for a brand new unit, fitted it, checked that the prongs on the pressure plate were ok.....they are. This is where it starts to get weird.....while i was building it up (had no passenger driveshaft in at the time and front wheel was off the floor) i connected the battery, started car up and i COULD select any gear including reverse with no grinding or anything. Carried on building it all back up....all 4 wheels on the floor, gearbox oil in, started car to go and select a gear and the damn thing wouldn't go in does the same thing with reverse....grinds.
I jacked car up so both front wheels were off the floor, started car up i could select any gear i wanted.....little jumpy but they slotted in. But what i noticed is while i had clutch pressed all way down to the floor, the wheels were still spinning.....give it a rev and wheels got faster, pressed brake pedal and it sounded like something is still spinning causing it to grind/rub.
When selecting a gear whether i had foot on clutch or not, i only had to move the gear stick a matter of millimeters and wheels would start spinning again.
Iv included a video to see if any of you guys have the foggiest idea what the hell is going on. Surprised Gav and Boony haven't told me f&*k off yet with the amount of txt messages and phone calls they keep getting off me lol.
