Saxo desire fog lamps

    Hi there,

just purchased a year 2000 Desire for my son, all seems ok so far, but I have a problem with the built in front fogs.

From what I can see the wiring underneath the car looks ok, bulbs look good, in car fuse is fine....anyone able to shed any (fog) light on this?

    Steve.

I have a desire aswell and I had this problem and I've tried everything to get it working but never managed to do it but when it had the mot they wiggled the wires and it has worked fine, they said its a common fault for the fogs on a saxo, give that a try mate

Just to check you are using the fog switch and not just the light switch?

    Hi mickswan

I'm using the inner ring on the light stalk.

long shot but could be corrosion on contacts, or broken cables at worst. Fiddle around and unplug / WD40 / clean / replug the wires.

Also, bulbs may look good but could be dead, do a check with a new bulb.

    Hi Manu,

you stole my thunder......spent a couple of hours doing all the things you recommended.

Checked bulbs, they looked good, no broken element etc. At my wits end I decided to purchase one bulb to test. After interchanging new with old the bloody light worked!

Just goes to show, don't overlook the obvious lol.

Thanks to all for your help.
