engine turns over but wont fire

   been trying to start my vtr but it just turns and doesnt fire. i know the standard things to check, i can smell fuel, checked for a spark and there isnt one.
   
   the car was running but its been sitting in my mates yard unstarted since may this year. ive plugged the car in and got no fault codes, i know that the leads work as ive put a set of magnecore leads on that came off a vtr i saw running the other day, used afew different plugs all of which i know are ok.
   
   im left thinking either coil pack or crank sensor, was wandering if there are any common faults ?

   As you`ve said mate crank sensor,without a signal from the cs to the coil pack you have no spark.

   Just check for a spark? connect your spark plug to the HT leads but not in the head and then see if they spark
