As many of you know its sumtimes a twat having a low as fook car.So... am guna make my front splitter so when i get to a speed bump, i flick a switch and hey presto, it lifts up and i can go over them. Been pondering about this for a while and think im guna av a go @ it.
Got the plan of action sorted just need to get the parts together wich is easy the easy bit and crack on: duno wat it will turn out like

Sounds interesting, dunno how your gonna get it to work likes! you gonna make a progress thread/?
  3. #3
sounds like an idea but if you catch it itl only be held at each side wont it? so itl rip off. dya not think?
  4. #4
yeh matey i'll do a progress thread, just got small problem off gettin it runin first tho (still waitin on parts!) then i'll get goin on this project

think I'll keep an eye on this, sounds intresting

take it your using linear acautors(spelling), the only probs that pop to mind is how are you lifting it, are you making it raise up front of bumber, or behind, not much room on the later, and if you have it raising up the front, then you run the risk of it looking tacky!!

unless you plan to push the spliter from the bottom, so it comes up and over

ste how do you animate that like that to make it move in paint?
  13. #13
i drew the pics in paint and used a free gif animator off the net as didnt have paint shop on the pc i was on

It looks like hes edited each frame individually.

My mates GTO has something similar to that (automatic front splitter), an aero spoiler or something its called. I think it inflates undet the front of the car, but for town driving u can deflate it again so the clearence under the car is much better.

Nice design but if you look at the animated pic closely you can see it's rubbing the paintwork when it moves, that would flake the paint off in no time!! hehe

it was a quick picture in paint and on the real deal you would make it so it dont rub as rather than the liniar actuator being fixed along it would be fixed at each end giving more movement
