New KAM Racing solid top mounts

  1. #1
I've been rather busy working on some new product lines the last few months.
I wanted some top mounts that are high quality well made and a quick manufacture time. I realised I'd have to design them myself!
As Stew from Baker BM is a good friend it was natural to get him on board so he has turned my sketches, measurements and ideas into a final product.

First up is the Citroen Saxo solid top mounts. The first version is a fixed bearing with a slight offset to get some negative camber. The same mounts will obviously work with the Mk2 Peugeot 106. I've used all four mounting holes as it makes it less confusing to fit. These are handed so you want to get it right or you will have comedy camber

The other product is another offset solid mount design for the Clio Mk2 and Mk1. This Renault Clio solid top mount ended up a little complicated to design as I wanted to resolve many issues we have with other top mounts available on the market, but i'm pleased with the result! Its amazing how many prototypes you can have of a nut and lower bush!

Theres a few more in the pipeline so I will keep you posted

We will be measuring in about a weeks time when Chris is back from an African safari rally. If you want to be the guinea pig then I'm sure we can come up with something though. I'm expecting around a degree of camber, maybe one and a half degrees.

These look nice! Although they seem a bit expensive for something you've not tried?

The product is fine and is tested for quality and strength. I just have not done a camber measurement. Its rather hard to get someone who's willing to donate their car for half a day so a product can be fitted, measured and removed.

How much will the saxo/106 mounts be?

£139. We did want to get them under £100 but we found that high quality motorsport bearings are considerably more expensive than low grade bearings you will find in cheap kits. If you are going to put your name on it make sure its good lol
