can't unlock car..key fob? central locking?

Went to unlock my car today at lunchtime and nothing happened. I have an aftermarket key fob so i've had a few issues with the battery popping out recenty. after i put this back in place it still wouldnt unlock.
I've then tried a new battery, tried a different key fob casing and the battery voltage on the car is fine.
My issue is my sax is delocked and depinned, so my only way in is through my boot, and even this lock gave me trouble and i was locked out the car for nearly 3 hours today

    Any ideas?
Can the circuit board just die randomly?

It may be that the fob needs reprogramming to the alarm. If you still have manual for Alarm have a gander in there to see how to reprograme fob to alarm

The circuit board in the fob can crack(hairline)

You need to resync the fob after a battery change.

is that where you hold the button for 12 seconds or whatever?
if so ive already tried that

Yeah normally you hold the open button for 5-6 seconds to resync (on HF fobs, not the old infrared). If that doesn't work, either fooked fob or fooked receiver.
