Event : relocating ecu, battery and washer bottle

  1. #1
hi just wanted to know where people mount these as i'm clearing room in my engine bay to do a semi wire tuck and smoothed bay.

i was thinking of putting the battery in one of the rear quarters in the pocket and the washer bottle in the other side? good idea?

then i was going to remove the carbon canister and fit the ecu in the wing? again good idea?

    any help would be great

Not sure the battery would fit in the rear quarters if it's full sized? Make an enclosure in the boot for it. The ECU could go behind the dash?

wouldnt the ecu be exposed to water under the wing?

I've been looking Into the oddessey battery kits I've seen a few on this forum? And is it easy to put the Ecu in the dash?

Well I was thinking of putting it in a water tight bag or something? Sounds stupid but not much gets to where it would be due to arch liners and all the metal work

Extend the wiring and put it under the dash. Don't bodge it into the wing you're presumably moving the engine fusebox inside the car too?

Battery - put that in the boot for sure.

Something for you to think about is a remote brake servo for a real smooth bay

Thanks for the info, into the dash it goes! Also yes fusebox will be going into dash as I wanted to smooth the struts and inner wings so I can spray them

Would the smaller battery fit in the rear door pockets? Good idea?

Please tell me more about this remote brake servo? Also best place for washer bottle?

The battery might fit if you had a small cell battery (lithium etc) behind a rear trim panel down in the area in front if a wheel arch. But it would be much easier to put your existing battery in the boot unless you've really for something against that idea.

Washer bottle you need access to - depends how stealth you want it. Again could just be in the boot (remember it doesn't have I remain as a saxo washer bottle, use a different shape on from something that suits where you want to put it). If you're trying to be real trick maybe put it under the boot floor, but with the filler neck in the boot? Dunno - I'm thinking out loud tbh.

Brake servo if you're serious - but it'll be a bit of work. Of course, you could always just go without.

Ps you're unlikely to get to this standard without a LOT of work (fair play if you do!) but fishers is probably the nicest I've ever seen.

Something for you to aim for

You are full if great ideas, my car is stripped out so a small battery in the rear pocket to keep it hidden and tidy, washer bottle idea is great might have a look into doing the under the car thing, and thanks for the link, cars off the road for a rebuild so I could do it, could you check my other thread in performance section please, it's to do with what parts and prices etc.. Cheers

I want something like that but just the struts and the arms running along the engine to be smoothed and painted, just freshens it up a bit and so it's not to crowded.

Don't forget fishers looks real nice and simple partly because he's not got the whole inlet pipework too - so you need ITB's to really pull it off
