no they're most likely the standard 6.5inch 300lb gaz springs. They go fairly low, like 70-75mm. Have a look at ali123's silver 106. hes on starmags and that suspension.

My old mk1 was on them coilovers too until i went lower with shorter springs, it was on 15's so not sure how much help that is..

Thats good help mate, was gonna pm you after you posted on my thread. And saw you cut your bump stops to go lower is that a good thing to do? Aha cheers

yeah otherwise the suspension will just bottom out all the time and will be really stiff. The standard ones are really big.

Nice might need to do that
Is this the 106 he uses that setup with? Because if it will sit like that I think that'll do..

    yeah thats the one

yeah thats the way i'd do it. Start off at that height, see how you get on, might sit low enough/be low enough to be practical for you.
If you want to go lower in the future then you just have to give faulkner a ring and get some custom springs

I think I will, cheers for your help mate! How much does it cost to get custom springs made up? And will I need to change my top mounts when getting this conversion kit or will standard ones be fine?

custom springs cost about £130 from faulkner to any spec you want. I used 250lb. Gaz supply 5inch springs for cheaper but are 350lb which are far too stiff for the road in my opinion.

And standard top mounts will do fine

Thats not bad was expecting like 300, can faulkner make a spring rate to match the torsion bars as well?

Yeah I know but ive heard about faulkner making springs to match the 19mm torsion bars spring rate if that makes sense? Im just going by what ive read
  12. #12
yeah they could, im sure i read in the track section how stiff the front should be in relation to the back...

you dont want short coilover springs too soft though as itll go coilbound and you dont want it too hard or the car will bounce of the ground lol

Although i dont see why you'd care about it matching the rear anyway, handling should be the last thing on your mind with a slammed car lol

Nah youre right ill be taking it slow just incase of any hidden bumps and holes, never know with these shitty roads!

Ill probably do what you said earlier LSO about starting off with these and then see what theyre like
